Inauguration of the Caverne Patate Visitor’s Centre
On Friday, 13 March 2026, the Commission for Tourism and Discovery Rodrigues officially inaugurated the Caverne Patate Visitor’s Centre, a new space dedicated to welcoming visitors and enhancing the discovery of one of the most emblematic natural sites of Rodrigues.

The ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency, Mr. Jean Yvan Robert Hungley, G.O.S.K., Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, and Mr. Franceau Aubret Grandcourt, G.O.S.K., Chief Commissioner.

Rodrigues proudly participated in the World Travel Market 2025 in London, one of the world’s leading tourism events, which concluded today after three days of fruitful exchanges and promising opportunities for the island.

Led by the commitment of the Commissioner for Tourism, Mr. Jean-Alain Wong So, the Rodrigues Tourism Office, together with several local tourism operators, showcased the destination with pride. This participation helped enhance Rodrigues’ visibility on the UK market and further strengthened its positioning as an authentic and sustainable destination.
